The First Batch of Split Hopper Barges Equipped with Yuchai YC6MK China II Marine Engines Successfully Tested in Tengxian County, Guangxi

On May 26, after two days of intensive preparation, the first batch of 31.8 m split hopper barges equipped with Yuchai YC6MK China II marine engines were successfully tested at the Mengjiang Jinxing Ship Repair Yard in Tengxian County, Guangxi.

All three of the 31.8 m split hopper barges in the first batch use the engines of Guangxi Yuchai Marine and Genset Power Co., Ltd. (YCMGP) and each of them is equipped with two YC6MK China II marine engines.

There are special requirements for the front-end power output capacity of engines for 31.8 m split hopper barges, which represents a new application scenario for YCMGP.

The YC6MK China II marine engine features excellent performance in terms of low emissions, small vibrations, and low noise, and its front-end power output capability is strong with up to seven grooves on the pulley wheel, meeting the power transmission requirements of sea water pumps, fire water pumps, hydraulic rudder pumps, and split hull hydraulic pumps at the same time. Its output power can reach more than 60% of its rated power output, making it adaptable to the power source requirements of hydraulic cylinders used to prop up the hull while the split hopper barge is working. This won YCMGP the opportunity to provide engines for the first batch of 31.8 m split hopper barges in Tengxian County, Guangxi, beating its competitors in the domestic market.

It is reported that these split hopper barges will eventually be used in relevant inland rivers in Tengxian County and participate in the construction of waterway projects by local departments.
