The First Yuchai YC6TD Redundant Model Successfully Equipped for an Engineering Ship

Recently, the first YC6TD model featuring a redundant system independently developed by Yuchai was installed on the Zhe Kan Gong No. 9 ship. The ship successfully passed the ashore test during a ship survey in Daishan, Zhejiang Province, marking the official entry of Yuchai's redundant models into the market.

Redundant models are generally designed for ships with a single propulsion engine. Incorporating redundancy into the control system ensures the navigation reliability and safety of these ships. The YC6TD redundant model is equipped with the YCECU-02 electronically controlled diesel engine ECU system. This system includes two ECUs (one for service and one for standby), a switching box, and 2 sets of coolant temperature sensors, intake air temperature sensors, intake air pressure sensors, oil temperature sensors, and crankshaft speed sensors, respectively. If one sensor fails, the system seamlessly switches to the backup sensor, ensuring uninterrupted operation of the diesel engine and maintaining the safe operation of the ship. The Zhe Kan Gong No. 9 ship is mainly designed for offshore wharf exploration operations. Due to unfavorable weather conditions, only the ashore test was conducted that day. Under the witness of the local ship survey agency, the YC6TD model successfully passed various ship survey tests, thanks to its exceptional technology.

Currently, the Yuchai YC6T, YC6TD, YC6C, YC6CL, YC8CL, YC12VC, and YC16VC series marine diesel engines are equipped with a dual-ECU redundant switching function. This advancement greatly expands the applications of Yuchai's marine & G-drive engine products, thereby enhancing the market competitiveness of Yuchai's products in the marine engine sector.
