The LNG-powered Cement Tanker equipped with Dual Yuchai YC6TDN Propulsion Engines is Successfully Launched for Sea Trial in Qingyuan, Guangdong

At 9:00 a.m. on September 23, at Chenglong Shipyard in Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, the 1,600-ton LNG-powered cement tanker "Jinjiang 1601" equipped with two Yuchai YC6TDN engines (as propulsion engines) and two YC6JN single-fuel engines (as auxiliary engines) sailed smoothly to the downstream Jiepai water area of the Beijiang River, achieving a successful sea trial.

Before the sea trial, various tests were carried out, including navigation test, speed test, maneuverability test, steering test, anchoring test, stability test and full slewing test. The electronic control and supporting engineers of Guangxi Yuchai Marine and Genset Power Co., Ltd. stationed at the shipyard for many consecutive days for tracking and commissioning. Finally, all the test indicators met the requirements of the shipping test program, and were highly evaluated and recognized by the ship owner, ship surveyor and shipyard.

The LNG-powered cement tanker is powered by clean LNG energy, and the shipping mode is upgraded from traditional open bulk shipping to closed tanker shipping. Compared with traditional tankers, the LNG-powered cement tanker can reduce the emissions of sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxide by 100%, 85% and 20% respectively, and reduce cement dust pollution by nearly 100% during transportation.

The LNG-powered cement tanker equipped with Yuchai fuel engine is in line with the development of green energy and meets the increasingly rigorous requirements of ship emission regulations. The successful sea trial of "Jinjiang 1601" has promoted the "Gasification of the Pearl River" to a new level, established a good reputation for Yuchai in the LNG-powered ship market, and produced a good market demonstration effect.
