From 22°C to -22°C, Yuchai's Support has Traveled Over 3,000 Kilometers

On the evening of January 14, a customer of the YC16VCN gas engine from Inner Mongolia reported a fault in one of the engines and urgently requested a replacement part. Since this was a new project, the part could only be sourced from a supporting manufacturer in Zhejiang Province.

Upon receiving the news, YCMGP's Gas Engine Project Team swiftly activated a rapid response mechanism. Deng Yapeng, General Manager Assistant, issued directives via Enterprise WeChat. Following rapid communication and evaluation, a solution was promptly devised: On January 15, project team member Zhang Dabi flew from Yulin to Zhejiang. From there, he transported the required part from the supporting manufacturer's site in Zhejiang to the customer site in Inner Mongolia.

On January 15, the average temperature in Yulin was 22℃。 At 6:30 p.m., Zhang Dabi, feeling somewhat tired after a full day of work, rushed to Yulin Fumian Airport. Unfortunately, his flight was delayed. The plane didn't take off until 11:00 p.m. and landed at Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport at 1:00 a.m. on January 16. Zhang then checked into a hotel near the airport. It was already past 2:00 a.m. by the time he laid down to rest.

Early on the morning of January 16, Zhang rushed to the railway station via subway and then took a bus to the supporting manufacturer's site. By the time he arrived, it was already past 2:00 p.m. Zhang arrived earlier than expected (the part was originally scheduled to be delivered before 6:00 p.m. that day), and the part was not yet finished. Zhang had to wait patiently.

As time passed, evening settled in, and a chilly north wind began to blow. At 5:40 p.m., the part was finally finished. With the new part in hand, Zhang felt a sense of relief.

Early on the morning of January 17, Zhang hurried to Linhai Railway Station to catch a train, then transferred to the subway heading to Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport. Carrying a large cardboard box and a luggage bag, he drew many curious glances at Hangzhou East Railway Station because his attire starkly contrasted with that of the other passengers. Despite feeling a bit uneasy, Zhang remained composed. He reminded himself that, for the benefit of both the customer and Yuchai, he needed to deliver the part to the customer site in Inner Mongolia as quickly as possible.

At 3:00 p.m. on January 17, Zhang boarded a flight from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport to Taiyuan. By 6:00 p.m., he arrived in Taiyuan and exited the airport with the part in hand, braving the biting cold of -2°C. The wind was piercing. A colleague from the Yuchai Service Station in Baofa, Shanxi Province, picked up Zhang. From there, Zhang took a service vehicle to the customer site in Inner Mongolia.

All the way north, it snowed heavily. By the time Zhang reached Inner Mongolia, the temperature had dropped to -15°C. Due to the snowfall, the 300-kilometer journey took more than four hours. Finally, Zhang arrived at the customer site in Inner Mongolia at 10:50 p.m. on January 17. Although somewhat relieved, Zhang remained concerned about the performance of the replacement part.

Fortunately, after two days of commissioning and verification following the installation of the new part, it fully met expectations and alleviated the user's concerns. At that moment, Zhang felt completely relieved.

On that day, the temperature at the customer site in Inner Mongolia dropped to -22°C.

The journey spanned two days and nights, starting from Guangxi and passing through Zhejiang and Shanxi, ultimately reaching Inner Mongolia. During this time, the temperature fluctuated dramatically from 22°C to -22°C, a difference of 44°C. Zhang personally transported the part, traveling over 3,000 kilometers by plane, train, subway, bus, and other means of transportation to minimize the customer's loss and exemplify Yuchai's unwavering commitment to service. In doing so, he embodied Yuchai's service philosophy of helping customers succeed and demonstrated the resilient spirit of Yuchai employees.

This is the story of an ordinary Yuchai employee, epitomizing the dedication and hard work of Yuchai builders.
